Nothin’s Sacred Anymore…
Have you ever heard that saying? I used to hear it a lot when people were upset about something in government or on TV. Then I started hearing it more when people would sort of joke about a tradition being dumped…or something trivial like that.
But I still think it’s a great statement. Particularly when applied to the way things are in our country nowadays.
And I need to clarify something. As a pro life musician I sing about what I know should be sacred but isn’t. Unfortunately too many Christians let the sacred things be trampled. Ironically the “world” holds dear the thing they consider sacred. Like the right of a woman to choose to kill her baby. That’s a sacred right to them. They hold on to it for dear life. (pun intended)
What they hold onto as “sacred” are what Christians should be up in arms about. (figure of speech for all you gun shy libs) Christians should hold fast to what God says is sacred. Let’s not ever, ever, ever give up. Remember: eventually, We Win!
Here’s my video statement about sacredness. It’s called “Nothin’s Sacred Anymore”. Pay close attention to the last minute so you won’t think I’m all about doom and gloom. Check it out…
Stay tuned,

Jesus said a lot of things in a short amount of time. He said to love your neighbor as yourself. I notice that when I read that quote and many other quotes he never follows it with “except”. Love thy neighbor as thyself except those that don’t agree with you. Love thy neighbor as thyself except if he/she does something you don’t approve of.
In the ten commandments it does not say “Thou shalt not kill” except if they killed first.
All sides of the fence have taken some very valuable wisdom from the wisdom and filtered it through the lense of their own perceptions and experiences, and use the teachings of Jesus to validate their world view, each one thinking they really have a the market cornered on “Truth”. They point at the Bible and say “See… it says right here”. It makes perfect sense to them. So they find lots of other people who agree with their deduction and shore up their confidence that they have indeed put their finger on “The Truth”. Whole armies amass around “The Truth” and wars are fought for “The Truth”.
I’ve most certainly done that in my quest for “The Truth”. I’ve read Jesus saying “All these works I do ye shall do and greater” and told myself he was telling me that I too will be able to make water out of wine and heal the sick, and more. But even I missed the greater Truth and wisdom he was attempting to impart on the world. It’s much bigger than good versus evil, us versus them. It’s much bigger than being right or wrong. Those would only be minor revelations. It’s multidimensional. It spans eons and eons of spiritual growth, way beyond where we are even now. It lost it’s potency when it was filtered down through limited minds and dispersed throughout the world by a handful of elitists, hell bent on controlling every word, deed, and action of humanity.
This system of control found it’s solid footing with the invention of the telephone, TV, and radio. Through those and other medias we were programmed to bring to the controllers everything they wanted. The system depends on it’s self policing policies where people are divided and polarized against each other. It’s the easiest method of control ever imagined and the world’s religions are the greatest implementation devices ever created to create a “house divided” that polices itself. This system depends on our mindless repetition of “core beliefs”, automatons that can only move in one direction, seemingly unable to change. It needs us to keep doing what we are doing, building hate and division instead of love and cooperation.
I am so, so very sorry that you are still entrenched in all of this stuff Tony. And I know that just reading my words only serves to shore up your stance with it all but my heart breaks when I read your postings because I can see that you are caught in the same Matrix that has ensnared billions of people on the planet. I don’t blame you one bit. Like Jesus said “Forgive them for they know not what they do”. I believe that same system of control we all find ourselves in was around when he was. I believe he saw and knew how it was set up and that’s why he didn’t blame them one bit for allowing his demise like they did. But hey, I’m just your wacky cult member brother who you have seen fit to love as yourself except for…
Hey Marty,
First point I’d like to make in addressing your deep concerns about whether or not I love my neighbor as myself is this: I’m the only moderator for this blog, and I approved your comment. I could have just deleted it. But I want your points to be made and seen clearly.
Next, I’ll respond to your concerns in the order they were expressed.
1. The Bible is full of exceptions. Everyone goes to Heaven to be with God forever…except those who hate Him, deny His Son, and live out their lives in rebellion. I’m not making that up. It’s in God’s own words.
2. The Bible doesn’t say “thou shall not kill”. The direct translation from Hebrew to Old English is “thou shalt not murder”. I prefer the New King James Version which simply says “you shall not murder”. There’s a great chasm of difference between killing and murder. If you search deep inside yourself, you’ll recognize the difference…perhaps.
3. You’re correct when you say “all sides”…”use the teachings of Jesus to validate their worldview. You’ve even done this in your comment. Ironic, huh? But just because they use the words of Jesus doesn’t make them right. If they take His words out of context to create their own pretext, they’re creating religions. Sort of like you’ve done. It’s not the best way to gamble your eternal fate.
4. I (and the Christians I associate with) certainly don’t think we have the market cornered on “Truth”. In fact, we want the “Truth” to be shared with all the peoples of the earth. You do realize Jesus called Himself “The Way, The Truth, and The Life” don’t you? Christians didn’t give Him those titles. He gave them to Himself. He followed that with “no one comes to the Father EXCEPT through me.” Oops…another exception.
5. In your “quest for the Truth” you’ve remained in rebellion against God. And don’t be mislead into thinking because you say you’re part of the god force or some similar metaphysical statement that you’re not in rebellion. If there’s one true Creator God, and He did go to all the trouble to inspire many writers over many centuries to write His book, then your actions are against His will for you. Don’t take my word for it. Take time to actually read the Bible rather than merely reading silly commentaries about it. You’d be amazed to find out that even though Jesus made wine out of water (not the other way around as you wrote it) and healed the sick…we’re not going to be doing greater things. It takes some studying to find out, and most people don’t want to delve that deep into it. They’d rather build up straw men and knock them down.
6. There’s nothing bigger than good versus evil…other than God Himself. However; He’s good, and He loves us so much, He was willing to risk everything in order to give us our own will. He wants us to love Him, but He knows that in order for us to be truly able to love Him of our own will, we must have the freedom to not love Him…even hate Him if we choose. And the vast majority of humans hate Him. For you to create multi dimensions and “eons and eons” is to simply try and obfuscate the issue. It’s really a very simple matter of relationship. Do you want to love your Creator? Or rebel against Him? You’re free to choose. I choose to love Him.
7. I know my mind must be much more limited than your enlightened mind, but I’ve never tried to control anyone else. Your control conspiracy doesn’t apply to God. Think about it…couldn’t He be the ultimate control freak if he wanted? I mean, by definition, He’s God…able to do anything, control anything, and yet He says “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life…” He’s not gonna choose it for you or control you to do as He says. And neither am I or 99% of the other Christians who love God.
8. Keep in mind you’ve been an automaton with your “core beliefs” in opposition to mine for as long as mine have been in opposition to yours. You’ve given me the same old worn out reasons not to believe in the God of the Bible for many years now. So, you’ve really stuck to your guns. I’ll give you that. Trouble is…your guns aren’t loaded. They’re antiquated weapons that will only kill you. (don’t take offense at my gun analogy…it’s merely an analogy)
9. I don’t build hate and division. The “Truth” unavoidably divides. Jesus even said “do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” Now…that sounds harsh taken out of context (which you have a tendency to do), but Jesus is showing His followers (and others) they must choose. You don’t get to go through this life and not choose. Trying to stay safely perched on the fence only means you’re lukewarm at best. And Jesus didn’t have good things to say about that either.
10. Finally…you should not be “so, so very sorry” for me. You should rejoice that according to your own religion I’m only doing what’s right in my own mind. I mean, we all have to find our own “truth”. Right? My belief hasn’t ensnared the majority of people on the planet. Your matrix has. Christianity is a minority belief. And the people in Jesus’ day didn’t “allow his demise”. They demanded it. Why? Because He offended them. If He were here today, you’d be among those who would yell “crucify Him”. Because He’d tell you there’s only one Way to Heaven…through Him…and you would just hate that.
Look…you really need to give the Bible a thorough study. You’ll see it was hardly a bunch of “elitists”. They were downtrodden knuckleheads who screwed up at every turn, but God didn’t give up on ‘em. He’s not giving up on you either. And neither am I. While you still breathe, there’s hope for your eternal soul to be with Jesus forever in paradise. But He won’t control you into choosing Life…and I won’t either.
I love you as myself…and I don’t want myself to be separate from God forever. Selah!
Thanks you made my day Toni I loved the song equally as well.
Hey…is this Robin? I checked out the link, and it appears to be you. Great to see you here, and thanks for the encouragement.
