What’s A Nice Guy Like Me Doing In A Pro Life Blog?

I’m a nice guy. Ask anybody. Well, don’t ask the millions upon millions who hate me just because I say Jesus is God. And don’t ask other Christians who condemn me for rebuking the wicked. (and yes…wicked people really do exist)  And don’t ask any of my friends or family members who are willing to compromise on God’s eternal commandments.

But other than that…ask anybody. They’ll tell you I’m nice.

Seriously; I know apart from the saving Grace of Jesus, I’m not very nice. Given my way I’d probably be a philanderer, a cad, and a general-all-around-ne’er-do-well. Thankfully I’ve learned to trust in the One whose way is higher than mine. And I trust His ways are not lower than mine, too.

I’m thankful I serve the Living God who’s open to hear my prayers of helplessness, doubt, and need. He’s open to my prayers of thankfulness, too. And He’s a true Living God who’s willing to bend down and bend over backward to be sure I have eternal life. Yet…He won’t force me to choose it. He’s given me choice: to follow His guidelines and live more abundantly and ultimately forever…or to rebel against His guidelines and live by the skin of my teeth and die an eternal death.

I choose life.

Jesus didn’t die His horrible death to forgive me of my sins. He died to provide forgiveness of my sins. I still have to choose to receive the forgiveness and eternal life. The only place where forgiveness comes before repentance is in the dictionary.

I choose life.

God’s willingness to forgive a “nice guy” like me shows His ultimate willingness to change in my behalf.

Now that’s nice!

A Simple Pro Life Musician Predicts Sonia Sotomayor Is Not Pro Life

Why would I say this? Am I just a brilliant and gifted prognosticator? Hardly. Do I have special knowledge from God? Nope. However; I can tell good fruit from bad fruit, and there ain’t no good fruit in Obama’s house. Here’s why I believe anyone who thinks Ms. Sotomayor is pro life will be disappointed:

1. Obama picked her…and he’s the most radically pro abortion president we’ve ever had
2. You can’t be solidly pro life and be chosen by any president anymore
3. Sotomayor “would prefer that the courts make abortion law“

Number three is probably the most telling of the reasons I listed. Sotomayor’s being touted as a Catholic, yet she doesn’t realize, recognize, attest to, confirm, or acknowledge God’s enduring command not to murder. He makes law. Not stupid men and women who say it’s OK to kill a human being as long as no one ever sees the human being.

Just because no one ever sees the unborn baby being aborted doesn’t mean it’s not a human, or it’s not alive, or that it doesn’t feel the pain of what’s happening. It’s wrong! It’s always been wrong. It’ll always be wrong…And it would be wrong even if I were never born…so it’s not a matter of opinion. It’s a matter of truth. Truth exists whether the beholder agrees with it or not. And these ideas…these facts…these truths mean nothing to people like Obama and Ms. Sotomayor.

So…it’s not surprising that we get a Supreme Court nominee like this. It’s merely frustrating and despicable. But hey…at least it’s wrong.

A Pro Life Musician Talks About The Whole World

Yep…fasten your seat belts. Get some snacks or a warm dinner ready. Fill up a frosty mug of your favorite beverage. Put your feet up. And get ready to read the longest blog post ever written because I’m gonna tell you how you can…

Beat The World!

All set? OK…here’s how you do it. First, get down on your knees and ask forgiveness from the Creator of the universe. Tell Him you’re sorry for what you’ve done to hurt yourself and others. Tell Him you accept His Son, Jesus, as your Savior and that you want Him to come into your heart and change you from “dead” to living. If you do, you’ll be what Christians call “re-born”, and through your changed life you’ll beat the world.

That’s it.

I fibbed about how long this would take. See how easy it is? And that’s one of the main reasons so many won’t take my words to heart. They believe it can’t possibly be that easy. So they set themselves up for hard work, doing good deeds, and attempting to work out their own form of salvation or eternal life.

Sorry, but there’s only one Way. Jesus. The good news is…it’s so much easier than all the other ways. Give it a shot. You’ll be glad you did. And you may even thank me for it when we meet in Heaven. It’s not required, though. 

May the grace of Jesus shine down on your heart and change you…if you haven’t already…and continue to strengthen you if you’ve already followed my guidelines.

Beat The World

Connect The Dots

I can’t imagine considering the complexity in the universe and coming up with the conclusion that it must have all been an “accident”.

But that’s just me.

Think about this one tiny, almost inexplicable thing. Certain caterpillars become moths. And you know what happens during the metamorphosis? The caterpillar basically becomes “mush”. How in the world would it ever become a butterfly through the process of evolution? I mean c’mon. Once it becomes “mush” how do the processes continue to function?

I’ll tell you how…God.

He created life, and He gave us such complex and beautiful variety. Just in my back yard, in the springtime and summer, we see gold birds, yellow birds, orange birds, blue birds, red birds, black and white birds, doves, squirrels, foxes, snakes, deer, elk, dogs, cats, etc.

And that doesn’t begin to include the insects and plant life. And don’t get me started on photosynthesis or grass dormancy or…well, like I said…don’t get me started.

No…you just need to Connect The Dots and you’ll find God.

I think I’ll write more about this later, but I’ve been working since 10 o’clock this morning, and it’s 11 p.m., and my eyes want to quit looking at this computer monitor. So…

Connect The Dots

The Pro Life Musician Gets Re-Connected

It’s been a few days since my last entry on this blog. And that’s because I had router issues.

The Linksys router I use to network 4 computers together glitched on me. And I thought I had it fixed yesterday, but nope…I had to go back to the drawing board, today. Well…actually I had to put the router back into the configuration using a different output until I found the right combination of connections.

So…if you’re reading this…then it must be working.

It occurred to me that “routing” issues can be tied into life itself. It appears that God was right when He said most people want to choose the wrong “route”. That’s a key point, too…choice. No one will go to hell because they’re just meaner than everybody else. No. They’ll go there because they choose to hate the one true God. They prefer to BE God, and so they’ll get to be god of their own tiny, black universe forever. It’s a pity, but true.

I’m pleading with you unbelievers to resolve your routing issues. Change the route you’re on and opt for eternal life in paradise with God. You’ll be glad you did, and you’ll be “connected” forever. And without those high monthly internet charges.

Only You

This Pro Life Musician Is Self-Righteous And Angry

You know, Jesus said “not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the kingdom of Heaven. And we have a lot of wolves in sheep’s clothing in the world. They pretend to be Christian, but they don’t have a clue. They’d prefer to tolerate all those Jesus said would not inherit the kingdom:

• fornicators
• idolators
• adulterers
• homosexuals
• sodomites
• thieves
• covetous
• drunkards
• revilers, or
• extortioners

But these same people just can’t stand a Christian who stands for the Word. Instead they’ll take Bible text out of context and make it a pretext for their ignorant belief in the god of their own image.

Case in point…I received an email from a reader, who calls himself James but I doubt that’s his name, who took me to task about my Pro Life Musician blog. He believes I’m being nothing like Jesus, and his reasoning is inserted, below. “James” is a child, a lactose intolerant child at best, in his knowledge of the Bible. You’ll even notice how he thinks I must have been abused by my father to even have this blog.

I’d find it incredulous if I hadn’t heard it all before from a brother of mine who’s also dimwitted when it comes to knowledge of Jesus. Jesus doesn’t merely call us to be loving, kind, and gentle. He calls a spade a spade. Besides the list of those who won’t inherit the kingdom of God, Jesus called people swine, harlots, dogs, and most telling of all: hypocrites!

Therefore…if I’m to be more Christ-like, I need to confront whenever it’s called for, love and honor as much as it’s within my power to do so, and work diligently to share the Truth…That Jesus is the only Way to the Kingom of Heaven…and the “kingdom of heaven within” isn’t talking about what James thinks it is.

If that makes me self-righteous and angry to some, so be it. In the meantime…I’ll go on writing songs about the grace, power, and justice of God. And I’ll write songs for little kids who never get or got the chance to grow up and love or hate. And I’ll write songs for other little kids who were born but didn’t live long because of a disease…like a tune I wrote called “Remember Tuesday”. Remember Tuesday

Tomorrow Is May 5th, 2009 In America

Don’t get me wrong, but I love my country above all other countries. Even with all its faults (and there are too many to mention now) it’s still the best place on Earth to live, work. And have the freedom to pray, prepare, and prosper.

So, at our house we don’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It’s a Mexican holiday, and its mostly celebrated in one part of Mexico. We probably have more people celebrating it here in America than they do in Mexico. Oh, the irony. Again, don’t get me wrong…I even like a good Bohemia, Tecate, or Corona once in a while…but I would most likely drink it on Independence Day. That’s the 4th of July, by the way.

I’d almost be willing to celebrate Cinco de Mayo just because it marks another country’s defeating of French forces. Pretty much the only war France ever won was their own civil war. So, I get some “yucks” from it, but…no…still ain’t gonna celebrate. But you can if you want. And if it makes you happy to buy me a Bohemia and some chips and salsa…knock yourself out.

A Pro Life Musician’s Video Account of Sheets Of Shame

In August of 2008 a pro life sign was put up on the side of a mountain near Golden, Colorado. Not necessarily big news…unless it just happens to be the largest protest sign ever. And it was. I took some video footage and put together my humble respects for the effort.
