Get Your Name In The Book of Life

It’s ironic to me…automobile insurance is mandatory in America. You can’t drive your vehicle around for long without risking your driver’s license if you’re caught without auto insurance. Why? Because “they” know sooner or later the unexpected will happen, and you won’t be able to pay for it if you’re not insured.

So…why is a pro life musician talking about the irony of mandatory auto insurance? See, it’s like this…driving a car runs the risk of an accident, and if it’s expensive, you won’t have to worry because insurance will “cover it”. Well, living your life runs the risk of dying. In fact, it’s not a possibility…it’s a guarantee. Yet so many people go through their whole life without “afterlife insurance”. They don’t even bother to look into it. They may just be putting it off until it’s too late. And then there’s no way to get it anymore.

I happen to believe, not by blind faith but by overwhelming, compelling evidence, there’ll be an afterlife. And there’ll be two possible places to spend eternity. I’ve already gotten my insurance. It wasn’t mandatory, and I don’t have to pay the premiums…which is great because I could never afford them. No, the premium is paid in full, as a gift to me specifically, and all I have to do is believe.

How utterly cool is that?

My suggestion is simple: look into it. That’s all. Don’t take my word for anything. And if I’m wrong about this one thing, please show me. The one thing is this: I’m saved from eternal separation from God, my Creator. Here’s how it happened. There really was a man named Jesus. He really did die for my sins. He really did rise from the dead. He really is God the Son. And He really does love me that much. All he asks from me is to believe it. I do. I’m saved. It’s nice knowing I have insurance just in case death occurs…’cause it will.

I got my name in the “book of life”, and I can celebrate forever. You should “(get your name in the) Book of Life“.

Are you in Great Hands?

Roses To The Rescue

C’mon…can’t we all just get along?

I call myself (and my blog) the Pro Life Musician. I’ve written songs for pro life/anti-abortion causes and to simply encourage Christians to “hang in there”. Being pro life doesn’t mean I only care about the unborn. It also means I care deeply about the happiness, health, and well-being of the born. After all…it’s us born creatures who have so much negative effect on the unborn.

One of the main causes of American destruction is…no, not higher taxes…no, not military spending….no, not even corporate bailouts. Are you ready for this? It’s d-i-v-o-r-c-e. I spelled it out in case any kids were around because they’re the ones most destroyed. Statistics say that every year in America over 1 million kids suffer the trauma of divorce. And since divorce devastates the first  relationship God established, it’s no wonder it’s one of the main causes of

  • Health, behavioral, and emotional problems in kids
  • Kids’ poor attention spans and abilities to learn
  • Income drops for divorced parents
  • And even significant drops in religious worship…yes, among Christians

Any husband and wife who may be having difficulties…stop arguing for a bit and consider this: It’s a tough world. And we each need a helpmate. We each need someone we can turn to who’s gonna be there through the tough times as well as the good. If you’re young, one day (much sooner than you think) you won’t be. Looks fade. Money comes and goes. But love…true love…lasts forever. Sometimes you may even have to make it an act of your will to love your husband or wife, but do it. Make no end to your willingness to give. Jesus died 2000 years ago to show us how.

I recommend that the man…the husband starts the process. Don’t let your wife out-give you. Ever! We’re men, and we need to go first and prove just how manly our true love can be. If you’ve had a disagreement, go get your wife some roses or whatever flowers she loves. And then tell her how much she means to you…because she means even more than you’ll ever know this side of Heaven. Do it…

I’ll be here waiting to hear how it went.

And if your relationship is going great, don’t let that stop you. Get her some flowers anyway…just because. I don’t get any kickbacks from florists for telling, so go…what are you waiting for?

So Who’s Earth Day Is It Anyway?

Oh…sorry…I thought there would be cake, candles, ice cream, and dancing. Instead everybody’s celebrating dirt. When I was about a year and a half and living in El Paso, Texas, my parents took me to White Sands, New Mexico and I tried to eat a handful of the white sand. I thought it was sugar. Lo and behold…t was dirt. I didn’t celebrate then, and I’m not celebrating dirt, now.

Don’t get me wrong. I love our beautiful Blue planet. It’s home. I just don’t worship dirt, celebrate dirt, or elevate dirt to the same status as people. Just like the subhead to this blog states…I’m all about Elevating Human Life. And if and when dirt becomes as important as humans, we got another think comin’.

This brings me to my point. Who’s Earth is it anyway? Does it belong to the people who would rather have us all keeping our dirty feet off it while we glide past taking photographs? Or does it belong to the people who want to explore it, use its resources for the better lifestyle of all, and pass it on to others to do the same?

Answer…neither. We humans have been given “dominion” over the planet, but it doesn’t belong to us. We didn’t invent it, and we don’t know what’s best for it. We can only keep learning. My suggestion on this “Earth Day” is to remember the Creator of the Earth, the Heavens, and everything in them.

I can’t create a grain of sand (even though I’ve had a mouthful) so I defer to the Perfect Architect. That’s my segue into the free tune for the Pro Life Musician podcast. It’s called “Consequential Servitude”, and I use that term in the lyrics. Just click on the title to download or subscribe to the Pro Life Musician Podcast and get free tunes automatically. Hope you enjoy.

A Pro Life Musician Sings The Praises Of A
Supermodel With A Superbrain…Really

This is so cool. Maybe you’ve seen this video of Kathy Ireland before, but I hadn’t seen it until today. And it’s not a video of her on some exotic beach or runway. She’s being interviewed on Mike Huckabee’s TV program, and she states some of the best reasons to be Pro Life.

Music Is An Aural Expression of Life

I love God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
He is One. And He is Life.

God gave me this great and sometimes overwhelming gift of music. It has gotten me through years of my life as a constant companion when I had no human constant companion. Music brings me great joy, and I want a song in my heart until my heart no longer beats…and maybe even after that.  ;-)

It’s on that note (pun intended) I’m bringing you some excellent music from two entirely different sectors of the musical spectrum. The first video you’ll see below is what I call “one of the coolest bands” I’ve seen in many long years. It’s a very different and inspiring take on an old Otis Redding song “Stand By Me”. The second is much more poignant and important. It only has one singer, and yet manages to evoke even more emotion…unless your heart is hardened by the lies of this world.

I hope you watch and enjoy them both, and I’d love to read your comments on this blog.

New House Same As The Old House

It appears I’ve made a fairly seemless transition/transfer of my Pro Life Musician blog from one domain name to another. Hopefully it won’t look any different at all to you. But the domain name was www.tonyfunderburk.com, and now it’s the same as the name of this blog: www.prolifemusician.com

I’ve done this to tie all my internet marketing efforts together and to improve search engine ranking. I hope to see the good results shortly.

To thank you for sticking with me (even though you shouldn’t have felt a thing) I have another tune to share. For those of you who’ve subscribed to my Pro Life Musician Podcast, let’s hope this works, too. The name of this tune is “We Win”. It’s included in a video Rachel and Jason Troyer produced a few weeks ago and seen by almost 2,000 people. Click on the title to download or get the podcast version, below.

Your feedback is always welcome, and I appreciate you being there. Please let me know you got this and that you’re still able to see the emails.

Tea Party…Day of Silence…Gay Marriage…Stimulus Package

What do these things have in common. They’re all issues we Christians need to Take A Stand on. And I don’t mean a wimpy-I-don’t-wanna-judge stand, either. We need to make some wise judgements and wise decisions and Take A Stand right now.

The tea party protests that went out all over the country, yesterday, were a sign that maybe not everyone’s ready to give up to Obama and Washington, DC without a fight. And if you want to learn more about the “day of silence” and “gay marriage“, check out my friend, Danielle’s blog. She’s got a very interesting video you should watch…especially if you have kids in public schools.

Don’t be a CINO (Christian In Name Only). Be strong and courageous. Even you can only write a letter or an email to your congressman (’scuse me…er…congressperson) or tell a neighbor or loved one…you’re doing what God wants. Those people who would have us run down the path to destruction with their distorted view of truth are bold. Be bold back!

Here’s my gift to you if you’ll just do something today to Take A Stand for Jesus. It’s a free MP3 of a tune of my latest Christian CD called “Thank God”. The tune is called…you guessed it…”Take A Stand“. Just click on the title anywhere you see it here, and you can download it. Or…subscribe to my Pro Life Musician podcast and get it automatically on your MP3 player.

Remember: if God be for you, who can be against you?

A Wedding Song…A Video Service…And Congratulations

I know you’ve just lived through another tax time, so I won’t tax your patience or time with a long blog post. I just wanted to share a little relaxing music. It’s a tune I wrote to help promote a video service: Controlled Burn Media. The name of the tune is called “Here We Are”, and it’s designed for weddings.

If you’re getting married this year, you need to contact Controlled Burn Media. You’ll enjoy great service, quality video memories, and tip-top friendly people to work with. (by the way…I don’t get a kick-back from telling you this)

Now…enjoy the tune, and be pro life. It sure beats the alternative.

Good Friday Should Be Glorious Friday

Even though the death of Jesus didn’t actually occur on Friday, we Christians observe his Resurrection on Sunday, and because the crucifixion happened 3 days earlier (in Jewish terms) we have “Good Friday”.

So Good Friday to you. Sounds sort of weak doesn’t it? It sure does to me. When I think of what Jesus had to endure on that terrible and utterly blessed day…good just doesn’t cover it. I like Glorious! Glorious Friday to you. I pray you make it a great and powerfully Christian day. And don’t forget to thank God for giving us the most precious gift of His Son this Sunday.

It ain’t just Easter…it’s Resurrection Day. The day that points to the one difference Christianity has over all other faiths and worldviews…the death and resurrection of Jesus…God the Son. His was the only death worthy enough to save the world, and He was willing to sacrifice His life to give us our eternal lives. I can’t really comprehend it, but He made it so I can apprehend it. And that is Glorious!

P.S. Here’s a tune I wrote back in 1990. It’s called “Kinetic Love”. Science talks about two kinds of energy: kinetic and potential. And I figured I’d use them both to describe the kind of love we get from God. Just click on the song title or even better…subscribe to the Pro Life Musician podcast by clicking here. and get free tunes and more delivered directly to your iPod or other Mp3 player. One note: the tune needed a little extra compression so it’s not the highest quality, but it has the message. I’ll have a better file next time. Oh yeah…below are the lyrics…no extra charge. ;-)
